Sweet Alexandra; it's safe to say that we were destined to be friends. I love the divine appointments and connections God places in our lives. I met this creative, inspiring lady in front of the hot bar at Earth Fare on a Tuesday...I think she commented on my shoes which started a random conversation, and the rest is history. That was about 3 years ago. Little did we know that both of us would soon be stepping out on small business journeys that would create a special parallel in our lives where we could not only be fun friends, but would also be able to encourage and uplift each other as we pursue the gifts and passions God has uniquely gifted each of us with.
If you know Alex, she has an electrifying personality. Ball of fun, excitement, and exuberance. Happiness and hope radiate from her, so it's no surprise that she started a business whose specific purpose is to encourage people to pursue their passions, embrace their struggles, and hope for the future. For her company, The Drive Project Co., she creates leather jewelry and accessories with simple words of encouragement, or personalizes pieces with words that resonate with the wearer as a daily reminder to hold on to hope.
"Never forget the DREAMS inside of you. They are seeds of greatness waiting to be watered into the fullness of a harvest. Don't forget the day dreams, visions, and divine appointments that stir a passion for such a time as this. Never forget to encourage others along the way. Be the change."
If you're feeling discouraged or lost on whatever path you're walking, find someone who can walk with you and support and encourage you. Search for a word that can be your daily reminder of the season you're in. Don't run from it, embrace it. I know that on my small business journey I have been encouraged by Alex from watching her start her own business and seeing her continued passion to lift up others even when she may be struggling.
